No one deserves the prize …

So the Economist has an article suggesting that the Nobel peace prize should be withheld this year. Apparently, they’ve come across a research report that claims the world has been more peaceful in recent times … I disagree … Readers ?

YouTube is now GooTube !!

So its official now .. here’s the release from Google’s PR department that declares Google’s acquisition of YouTube for $ 1.6 Billion.

I was a little taken by surprise here … my gut feel led me to beleive that Yahoo! would take the initiative, since many of the search results on Yahoo! Video Search actually are links to YouTube videos .. A missed opportunity for Yahoo! … And think of it, its also a missed opportunity for Microsoft, as Scoble says, since MSN videos is practically uknown .. This would have been a great chance for Microsoft to get a foot in the video search door … alas ..

Apparently, YouTube is going to retain its own brand identity … So GooTube would still be called YouTube .. But then its always been YouTube, right ? …

The year that went by…

The year that went by hath seen much …

- One super-long flight
- 11 shorter ones
- Lived in four different cities
- Visited about four more
- Four great new friends for life
- Many forgotten “friends” ( Note the quotes )
- A quantum of workload I never imagined myself capable of doing

And I could go on with the list …

The point I’m trying to make is … Life is quirkier than the quirkiest people born … I was inclined towards thinking that life evolves the way one perceives it should … I wasn’t just wrong .. I was completely wrong … And yeah, of course it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out such a simple thing, does it ?

So, next year, around the same time (hopefully 18 days earlier than today’s date) … I shall write post with the same title …
