If only the Prophet had heeded the Emperor’s words, this post would probably not be written today. But then, it was a persistent wish – from a mother, how could that be turned down on Mother’s Day ?

All is quite difficult these days, save for promises.  Promises, promises everywhere.  Promises to the leader to keep the team flag flying high.  Promises to kith and kin to stay in touch.  Promises to the almighty to do everything right.  A daily promise to the inner self to seek a life.  And a silent promise to the motherland to return .. someday …. And of course, a promise to keep posting !

Now that all these have been promised, now its time to deliver.  Where is one supposed to make a beginning ?  Everywhere …  Lest the words of the great playwright from Stratford-upon-Avon should come true …

” Being of no power to make his wishes good:

That what he speaks is all in debt; he owes
For every word.”

At Mrs. M ’s insistence and persistence …. one per day from now, for a while

The title and the contents of this post were changed, as opposed to being deleted.  Just a sign of that entity we term as “inertia”.  Composing five lines a day for a post does no justice to its quality, and results in the entire post being replaced by this alternative text … The reason ? … The title says it all .. distractions galore …

Yahoo! Finance has just received a makeover … the site now sports a new, slick Web 2.0 look, with slide-down menus et. al

Here’s what I found most interesting, though .. One look at the Beta stock charts, and it looks like a straight rip-off from Google Finance .. Paranoia, perhaps ? ..

Its another dull Sunday afternoon, and I’m trying to recover from the exhaustion of the previous week .. iTunes is crooning away … just then a line from Missus Em sends me a line on Jabber …

The number in question was none other than Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” … although Bob wrote the song in 1965, it feels as though he was looking at my life to draw inspiration .. anachronism or deja vu ? ,.. perplexing indeed ..

So the Economist has an article suggesting that the Nobel peace prize should be withheld this year. Apparently, they’ve come across a research report that claims the world has been more peaceful in recent times … I disagree … Readers ?

The Prophet’s humble apologies for the super – lengthy lacuna.

In the world he now lives in, time is constantly ticking towards the next deadline, and those deadlines come in groups, stacked on top of each other … And somehow, impossible amounts of work get done before the seconds tick away.

A brief respite from the preoccupation makes one suddenly realize how time has flown by at the speed of light ! Look at all the scores of things that passed by since the last post from the Prophet appeared on this page … Whew !!

Lately, there has also been an impediment to blogging. Some like to call it “Writer’s Block”. The Prophet calls it the “Blank-Page Syndrome”. This essentially describes a situation where the blank page sits in front of the writer, and stares back at him / her, in a mocking, disdainful way, reminiscent of the way the elite masters view a rookie.

However, encumbrances exist solely for the purpose of being overcome … So keep watching this space !!

Back to square one in blog-land. Right now, my inventory of ideas is devoid of any useful matter.

I could write about this pall of gloom that’s settled over me. I’m gloomy and I’m pulling myself out of it by promising myself I’ll stay upbeat. It’s working, but not as well as I would like it to. Alright, no point in spreading the gloom, and let me assure you that its pretty contagious at times. I need a little magic to get me started.
